Fire… It kills without regard to age, race or sex. And it kills quickly. Each year, thousands
of people lose their lives or sustain injuries in fires. Many of these fatalities could have
been prevented through proper fire safety education and a smoke detector. That is why ABC-7
implemented Operation 7: Save A Life.
For the past 8 years, ABC-7, with the help of the New York and New Jersey Fire Departments and
our corporate sponsors, have been dedicated to providing the community with current information
on fire safety and most importantly we've committed ourselves to distributing thousands of new
smoke detectors to many families throughout the Tri-State area. Undoubtedly, Operation 7: Save
A Life has significantly increased public awareness about fire safety, prevention, and has
ultimately helped to reduce the devastating statistics that occur as a result of fires.
As we enter into 2006, ABC-7, Kidde, New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York Lottery and Toyota are excited to be joining together with a common goal of keeping the Tri-State area community safe!
