Subha was born near Arlington, Texas. Her passion for journalism began when she moved to Cupertino, California for high school. She was the news editor for her school paper, and she interned for the acclaimed local TV show, High School Sports Focus. Subha studied broadcast journalism and political science at the University of Southern California. In college she worked on the award-winning USC programs, Annenberg TV News and IMPACT. Subha also had the opportunity to intern on the hosting committee for the 2000 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles.
Subha got her first job in broadcast in 2002 in Amarillo, Texas where she worked as a reporter, fill-in anchor and fill-in producer for KAMR. In 2003 Subha moved back to California to become the South Valley Bureau Chief for KFSN, KABC's sister station in Fresno. Subha has also been able to return to her native Bay Area several times as a freelance reporter for KGO.
Subha joined ABC7 in 2006.
