Get alerts on your PC desktop

When wildfires break out, the wind kicks up, or any major news breaks, people with abc7.com Alerts will know it first. It only takes a minute to get going and it's a free download.

You can customize how you get abc7.com Alerts. You can choose a "pop-up" news alert and set it to appear wherever you want on your computer screen -- in the center, or any corner. If you don't want a pop-up, select the "mini slider" -- that's a news ticker. You can leave it running along the bottom of your screen, or set it to appear only when a news alert comes through. Either way, if you want more information on any of your news alerts, a simple click takes you to the full story on our Web site.

If weather is your thing, you'll love this -- you can have a constantly-updated look at the temperature outside on your desktop. Double click on the temperature for more information on the weather in your area including tomorrow's forecast, radar, satellite and any weather alerts for your area.
