Oldest snow monkey in North America celebrates 29th birthday

2 of 5: Nikko turned 29 years old this week, making him the oldest snow monkey in North America. He came to a zoo in Minneapolis, Minn., in 2001.

Since then, he has been one of the dominant males. Zoo employees believe his laid-back personality has helped him survive almost twice as long as a typical male.

There are only three other living snow monkeys in the world older than Nikko. (KABC Photo)
