Kingdom Day Parade in South Los Angeles

On Saturday, January 19, at 11 a.m., watch a live stream of the MLK Kingdom Day Parade in South Los Angeles.

In recognition of the 28th national holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., ABC7 is proud to broadcast the annual Kingdom Day Parade on Saturday, January 19.

The parade is usually held on a Monday, on the actual Martin Luther King holiday. But this year, President Barack Obama's inauguration is on MLK Day, so the parade is planned for Saturday instead.

Thousands of participants, including marching bands, drill teams, dance groups and equestrian units, will take part in Southern California's largest King Day observance. ABC7 anchors Marc Brown and Michelle Tuzee will host the parade coverage, with reporters Leo Stallworth and Danny Romero on the parade route talking to many of the excited spectators.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and Western Avenue. From there it rolls west along King Boulevard until it takes a left turn south onto Crenshaw Boulevard. It then marches down Crenshaw to Vernon Avenue, where the parade will end with a gospel festival in the street. There will also be lots of food booths and fun things to do throughout the afternoon and evening.
