High-speed pursuit of SUV in Inland Empire

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies are in high-speed pursuit of a suspect driving a Chevrolet Suburban in the Pomona area. The pursuit then led into Ontario and Montclair.

The pursuit began in San Dimas at about 6 p.m. Deputies tried to stop a reckless driver in the area, but the driver refused to pull over.

The vehicle was traveling about 45-55 mph in residential areas, and much faster on wider streets.

The vehicle sideswiped at least one parked vehicle in the Ontario area.

The suspect drove onto the grounds of the Ontario Airport.

The pursuit remained on surface steets as it moved into Fontana. The pursuit then progressed to Colton.

In the San Bernardino area, the driver twice crossed railroad tracks that were flashing.

The driver got onto the eastbound 10 Freeway in San Bernardino at about 6:56 p.m.

The vehicle appeared to run out of gas in the Redlands area on the freeway. The SUV slowly pulled over as CHP units pulled up behind. The driver exited the vehicle with his hands raised. Officers directed him to move backward onto the ground, and he was promptly arrested.
