Honda tells dealers to temporarily stop selling used cars

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Honda is asking its dealers to temporarily stop selling used cars due to the automaker's recent recall for faulty airbags.

Earlier this month, Honda announced that a recall involving faulty airbags was being expanded, adding approximately 272,000 vehicles in the U.S. to the already recalled 603,000.

Officials aren't exactly sure which vehicles have the faulty airbags, so dealers are being told not sell used Hondas until they are checked out.

The recall now affects nearly a million vehicles, including Accords, Civics, Odysseys, Pilots and Acuras.

According to the automaker, the airbags may inflate with too much pressure in a crash, sending metal and plastic pieces flying. The problem has caused a dozen injuries and at least one death.
