Lancaster shooting, pursuit suspect wanted

Sunday, March 25, 2012

A search is under way for at least one suspect who may have targeted a sheriff's deputy in an overnight shooting in Lancaster.

The deputy was driving through a strip mall on Avenue J around 2 a.m. Sunday when he says he heard gunshots and saw muzzle flashes coming from a Cadillac Escalade.

The deputy chased the SUV until it crashed near Avenue I. At least two men jumped out of the vehicle.

One was arrested, but authorities say at least one man ran into a nearby field.

If you have any information regarding this case, you're urged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
