LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Even in this economy, pet lovers are still looking for ways to pamper their pets. This year, spoiling your best friend is even better for the environment.
The Luxury Pet Pavilion is a show for pets accustomed to the finer things in life. What pampered pooch wouldn't enjoy lounging on a designer bed?
But this year California's largest pet products trade show has gone green, featuring several eco-friendly items.
"Pet industry is just like anyone else," said organizer Stephanie Ellis. "We're going to go green, and were going to try to save the planet just like everyone else."
There are dog collars made of bamboo, shampoos and perfumes scented with organic oils to make your dog smell sweeter.
And even house for cats and dogs designed with nature in mind.
This company has also designed a green-roof dog house that they hope will be used by the pet that will soon be living with the Obama family in the White House.
Even t-shirts are made with organic cotton for fashionable pets.
"The four-legged rock star is what we're all about, so we wanted to give a little style to the dogs to coordinate with the peoples' style," said Mark Baizen, who designs clothes for pets. "We wanted to do the business in an eco-friendly fashion."
And how about 100% organic sorbet for dogs in four flavors? The peanut butter flavor is already a big hit. This is what you call lapping up luxury.
