The list of top 10 Internet moments of the decade was released on Friday.
The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which is the group that presents the Webby Awards each year, compiled the list.
The list includes the launch of Craigslist in 2000, providing free classified ads and impacting the bottom lines of newspaper publishers everywhere, and the shutdown of Napster in 2001, limiting music file-sharing and helping to boost the profits of legal music sites like iTunes.
Also included was the aftermath of the Iranian election, when the social networking site Twitter helped demonstrators organize impromptu protests.
