LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- With Father's Day this weekend you may be thinking of getting dear old dad some of the latest and greatest grilling gadgets. Here are some items that will make outdoor grilling both fun and easy.
Sometimes even grilling masters need a little high-tech help. Dan Ackerman with CNET.com says the latest crop of grilling gadgets is sure to add flavor to your next outdoor soiree.
"Most of them are pretty simple. Just set them up once and then you're good to go," said Ackerman.
Starting with Cuisinart's portable roll-away gas grill.
"It has a built-in stand that folds down, and then you can just wheel the entire thing away," said Ackerman. "You can roll it down the street, or you can put it in the back of the car."
When things start to sizzle, keep the cook cool with the Sharper Image BBQ Grill Light and Fan.
"The fans take the smoke and heat and move them away from you so that you can stand there right in front of the grill, and it's a lot more comfortable," said Ackerman.
The Man Law Twist Flashlight is battery-free and magnetic, and comes with a detachable tripod.
For something more simple, the Ultimate Luma Tongs can also light the way.
Cook your patties to perfection with the help of the Brookstone Grill Alert Talking Remote Meat Thermometer.
"You just plunge it right into whatever you're cooking, and you have a little receiver you take with you," said Ackerman.
Ready for drinks? The Cooper Cooler chills beverages in a snap.
"You slip in a bottle of wine, or a bottle of beer, or a soda can, a little bit of water, a little bit of ice. Plug it in and hit start, and it will cool it down in three or four or five minutes," said Ackerman.
A few more cool items for your grilling pleasure:
- Opena's sleek iPhone case doubles as a bottle opener.
- For tunes, turn your grilling experience "green" with the eton Rukus solar-powered boombox.
- Or try the Eco Terra waterproof player.
These product cost anywhere from $20 to upwards of $300.
