NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (KABC) -- Approximately 12,600 pounds of boneless veal products distributed in New York and California have been recalled due to E. coli concerns.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall by United Processing LLC on Friday.
According to the USDA, the meat may be contaminated with strains of E. coli. The boneless veal was produced on June 17, 18, 24, 28 and 29, and distributed in 60-pound boxes.
The recalled products have the establishment number "M-27450" inside the USDA inspection mark on a box label.
The New York-based company inadvertently shipped the products after government regulators became aware of the possible contamination during an inspection, says the USDA.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the products.
Consumers with questions regarding the recall can call the company's plant manager at (315) 768-7100, ext. 228.
People infected with E. coli can experience dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps.
