LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Actor John Stamos was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday.
Stamos, 46, is best known for his role as Uncle Jesse on the hit sitcom "Full House," but he has had a long and storied career in show business, from television to Broadway.
"Full House" co-star Bob Saget and producer/director Gary Marshall joined Stamos in speaking at the ceremony.
Stamos was born in Cypress, California in 1963, and began his career on the ABC daytime drama "General Hospital" in 1982.
He received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 1984, the same year he left the series to star in the prime-time comedy "Dreams."
Stamos went on to star in "You Again?" before landing the role of Uncle Jesse on "Full House" from 1987-95. He also appeared in "Thieves," "Jake in Progress" and "ER."
Stamos is currently playing the role of Albert Peterson in the Broadway production of "Bye Bye Birdie," and his star was placed next to the one honoring Dick Van Dyke, who played the same role in the original production.
The Stamos star is the 2,393rd on the sidewalk.
