A man serving a sentence for stalking actress Halle Berry has been released from L.A. County Jail on Saturday.

Richard A. Franco pleaded no contest on Thursday to stalking the Academy Award-winning actress. The 28-year-old Commerce resident was arrested outside Berry's home last July.

Franco was sentenced to 386 days in jail for felony stalking. He spent half of the sentence in jail, and received work time/good behavior credit for the remainder.

Franco also received five years probation and was ordered to undergo a year of psychological counseling. There is also a 10-year protective order for Berry.

According to legal documents, Berry cited three incidents where Franco harassed her at her home. In one instance the actress said that Franco was standing less than a foot behind her, staring at her through a glass kitchen door.

"This person has jeopardized not only my own personal safety, but also the safety and well-being of my family," Berry said in the final lines of her filing. "This person has invaded and trampled upon the most fundamental sense of security I have and I am extremely frightened of him and what he might do to me and those I love."
