Garth Kemp and Disneyland Resort President George Kalogridis ride Maters Junkyard Jamboree in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park. There are lots of food choices at Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park. Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land, shown here during testing, is a twisting turning, high-speed adventure through Ornament Valley and the town of Radiator Springs.

Cars Land, the final piece of a five-year expansion at Disney California Adventure Park, is set to open to the public on Friday. A sneak peek of the grand opening shows lots of fun rides and delicious food.

Cars Land is based on characters and settings from the Disney-Pixar films, "Cars" and "Cars 2."

It features three attractions. Radiator Springs Racers is the main ride that takes visitors through the mountains of Ornament Valley. It starts out with a nice drive past all of the incredible rockwork, past a waterfalls, then you go inside for a couple minutes, through a quick car wash, and then it's the race. The ride lasts about four minutes long at speeds of up to 45 miles an hour.

Luigi's Flying Tires makes riders float along while leaning left and right. It's reminiscent of the Flying Saucers from Disneyland in the 1960s.

Mater's Junkyard Jamboree is a little wilder. It's similar to the Mad Tea Party, aka the tea cup ride, at Disneyland.

There are also restaurants, shops and neon lights. Fans of the movie will recognize places such as Flo's V8 Cafe, Cozy Cone Motel and Ramone's House of Body Art. Food items include roasted pork loins, citrus turkey salad, chicken tamales with scrambled eggs, pretzel bites, chili cones and flavored popcorn.

Also debuting at the theme park is Buena Vista Street, a newly themed entrance that immerses guests in a setting reminiscent of Los Angeles in the 1920s. Red Car Trolleys will be rolling along the roads, and there will be performances by Red Car News Boys and other entertainment.

Disney is the parent company of ABC7.
