LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Meryl Streep received a wild gift for her birthday.
The actress, who turns 63 on Friday, now has a snow leopard that resides at the Los Angeles Zoo. Betty White, well known for her charitable work at the zoo, adopted the snow leopard in Streep's name.
White says she wanted to give Streep a gift as unique and as rare as she is. The adoption was made in conjunction with the Lifeline Program through the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association's "Adopt an Animal Program," which applies adoption fees to international conservation programs.
