Barbara Walters says she's had enough rest and will be returning to "The View" next week after being sidelined for several weeks.

Walters was hospitalized on Jan. 19 after fainting and cutting her head at an inauguration party in Washington. Walters suffered a concussion and received six stitches.

Doctors did not release the 83-year-old because she had a temperature, which they realized was due to chickenpox. Chickenpox can be serious in older people because of the possibility of complications like pneumonia.

The veteran ABC newswoman was released from the hospital 10 days later and has been resting at her New York home since then.

Walters called into "The View" on Tuesday with the good news, saying "it's time to come back."

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
