Aniston, Sudeikis take road trip in dark comedy 'We're the Millers'
LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis take a big-screen road trip in their new dark comedy, "We're the Millers."
"We can't put anything other than R on this," said Sudeikis.
Sudeikis plays a pot dealer who comes up with an outrageous plan in order to smuggle a big score into the U.S. He assembles a fake family who pretends to be a real family out for a wholesome vacation of RV-ing to Mexico. Aniston plays a stripper.
"It's hard to kind of, you know, with a movie like this you've got to watch the tone of it. I mean, you are dealing with marijuana. We wanted to keep it as light as possible and just as downright funny as possible," said Aniston.
Sudeikis and Aniston saw the film with an audience for the first time this week when the movie premiered in New York City. The volume of laughter pleased them both.
"We got to hear the laughs come over us. I've been in theaters and partaken in that type of laughter with like 'American Pie' and 'Superbad' and whatnot and then to be in one of those movies that I felt those laughs happening was really neat," said Sudeikis.
The stars hope the laughter continues when audiences nationwide get the chance to see "We're the Millers" for themselves.
"We want exactly that type of audience that had, you know, hopefully not too rough of a week, but when they want to laugh and have a good time, you know, hang out for two hours, drink a giant soda," said Sudeikis.
