A just-released survey reveals a surprising number of parents may be in denial about their youngsters' weight.
The study conducted by University of Michigan researchers found that many Americans whose children are obese do not see them that way. Among parents with an obese or extremely overweight child, 43 percent said their youngster was "about the right weight."
Researchers say that's worrisome because obese children run a higher risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol problems.
