COPD can lead to heart failure and doctors say one the best ways to avoid it is to stay lean, and get fit. Researchers found the risk of heart failure is almost double in overweight men.
More than 5 million Americans are living with heart failure. But this study showed that men can cut their risk dramatically, by having a normal body weight and getting regular exercise.
Overweight men had a high risk for heart failure, but the risk went even higher for men who were overweight and were inactive.
The good news? Even moderate exercise can help cut the risk of heart failure by 20 percent.
