LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- With "The Men Who Stare at Goats," "Fantastic Mr. Fox" and "Up in the Air," George Clooney is a triple holiday theater threat.
"Up in the Air" lands in theaters Friday and premiered in Westwood Monday night.
"It's the kinds of films that we like, we've always liked. They do a good job, they entertain, they're funny and then, you know, they mess you up a little bit at the end, and I think those are always good films," said Clooney at the premiere.
In "Up in the Air," Clooney plays the ultimate frequent flyer. He's a corporate downsizing expert, intent on reaching 10 million frequent flyer miles.
Anna Kendrick is getting great buzz for her work in this movie.
She's also in the cast of the "Twilight" sequel "New Moon."
"It'll be nice to be in a film where, you know, there's not like ear-piercing shrieks and stuff. I love that this film raises questions and doesn't give you answers," said Kendrick.
Director Jason Reitman does give you an actor he's featured in "Thank You For Smoking" and "Juno" -- J.K. Simmons, who's in this one, too.
"I'm his muse, he tells me, which is just weird and unsettling," said Simmons.
When asked why viewers will enjoy themselves, Clooney joked, "Well, because Jason gives a free car to everyone who sees the film, and I just think that that's, you'll enjoy yourself for that alone."
"Up in the Air" is being called a dramatic comedy.
"Up in the Air" is rated "R" and opens on Friday.
