'Dancing With The Stars' crowns Donald Driver as Season 14 winner
LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Football star Donald Driver and his partner, Peta Murgatroyd, won "Dancing With The Stars" season 14, one of the most competitive seasons ever.
Driver already has a Super Bowl ring and now he can add the show's mirror ball trophy to his collection. It's also Murgatroyd's first mirror ball trophy.
The duo scored a perfect 30 for their "24 Hour Challenge" Cha Cha dance, in which the contestants had 24 hours to pair their dance style of choice to music given to them after Monday night's show.
On Monday night, Driver and Murgatroyd received 29 out of 30 points from the judges for their Argentine Tango and 30 out of 30 points for their high-kicking country-themed Freestyle routine, giving the pair a total score of 89 out of 90 points.
Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas, who accumulated the highest judges' scores of the season, danced to a second place finish.
"This whole experience is something I will look back on and cherish my whole life, the whole thing," she said. "You can't put that into a trophy."
The singer and Ballas scored 30 for their "24 Hour Challenge" Jive, and on Monday got 30 for their Paso Doble and 30 for their Freestyle, giving them a perfect 90 points.
Fan favorite William Levy also feels victorious about his third place finish with partner Cheryl Burke.
"The whole experience being here, sharing with the fans, we definitely feel the love from them and that's better than anything else in the world," Levy said.
The telenovela star and his partner scored 30 for their "24 Hour Challenge" Salsa dance, and on Monday received 30 for their Cha Cha and 29 for their Freestyle. With 89 out of 90, they were but a point away from a perfect score.
