BUENA PARK -- A knife-wielding man with short blond hair, a silver tooth and an inch-long scar on his right cheek raped a 12-year-old girl at Gordon H. Beatty School in Buena Park Friday, police said.
The attack at the elementary school, 8201 Country Club Drive, occurred about 9 a.m., and students were kept in classrooms while police searched the area, according to Buena Park police Sgt. Gary Worrall.
"We're pretty confident we're going to be able to catch this guy," Worrall said.
The victim was treated at a hospital and later released, Worrall said. Her injuries were minor, Worrall said.
The culprit is thin and believed to be in his early 30s. He was wearing black pants, a gray and black shirt and a blue jacket with Asian writing — ideograms, not English lettering — across the front, police said.
