LOS ANGELES, April 29, 2006 (KABC) -- Traveling through many parts of Los Angeles is nearly impossible today due to planned immigrant rights demonstrations.
Hundreds of thousands of people have skipped work and school and attend the noon rally and march through Downtown L.A.
These planned marches have prompted several major street closures that may effect your commute.
In Downtown, Broadway will be closed from Temple to 11th Street from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Wilshire Boulevard will be shut down between Alvarado and Cloverdale from 2 to 8 p.m. After 3:45 this closure will extend west to La Brea.
Downtown traffic will be detoured to Third Street and Olympic Boulevard.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead.
