Brief gun scare at Cal State Northridge

  

NORTHRIDGE (KABC) -- The Cal State Northridge campus got quite a scare late Tuesday night after a student called in a report of a man with a gun.

Investigators say the student said she saw an armed man go into the residential housing area. Police evacuated some buildings because initial reports indicated that the man took hostages and had barricaded himself, but those reports turned out not to be true.

A search of the area did not turn up anything or anyone.
