O.C. Sheriff to recall volunteer badges

  

ORANGE COUNTY (KABC) -- Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchins will recall as many as 400 civilian volunteer badges handed out by her predecessor Michael Carona.

According to the L.A. Times, Hutchens says she is not comfortable with volunteers carrying the badges, although they are not an exact replica of sheriff's badges.

Hutchens says she wants to make sure the so-called "professional service responders" program is not tainted by allegations of political favors. There have been suggestions Carona distributed the badges for political reasons.
