SYLMAR, Calif. (KABC) -- The big concern for residents in fire-ravaged areas is mudslides that will most likely come with the rain that is expected this week.
In Sylmar, many hillsides near homes and businesses are bare, and the chances of mudslides are high.
Residents in Yorba Linda started sandbagging early, anticipating the storm that is set to roll in Tuesday and Wednesday.

The area around Olive View Medical Center in the San Fernando Valley, just north of the 210 Freeway, is surrounded by barren hillsides, stripped of the brush that would have helped to hold tight sliding debris.
Fire officials are urging residents to be proactive and take extra time to protect homes against potential slides.
"Remain vigilant, monitor the situation: Look in your backyard and make sure you're not getting the mud starting to come in your backyard," said LAFD Capt. Dan Curry.
Residents can go to any fire station in the San Fernando Valley to pick up sandbags, Curry said.
For further fire relief, Sylmar-area residents can visit Saint Didacus Catholic Church, 14339 Astoria Ave., Sylmar, CA 91342, (818) 367-6181.
