SAN JACINTO, Calif. (KABC) -- Police arrested a man on Thursday for allegedly breaking into a San Jacinto home and beating an elderly woman.
Deputies said they arrested 22-year-old Victor James Hernandez at his home in Hemet.
On New Year's Day, authorities received a 911 call at about 6:30 a.m. from an 86-year-old woman, who said someone had broken into her house. She was attacked while making that call.
The victim is still hospitalized, but is now in stable condition.
Investigators credit citizens who came forward with information for helping deputies make the arrest.
