LAKE MATHEWS, Calif. (KABC) -- A horse got mired in mud in the Lake Mathews area, but rescuers were able to pull him from the muddy mess safely.
"Mack" and his rider were trying to cross a flooded field about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
It took a small army of volunteers from Riverside County Animal Services and Norco Animal Rescue to free Mack from the mud.
He was reunited with his owner and was driven away in a trailer, shaken but unhurt.
