Bank of America hosts homeowner assistance event in Ontario
ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- Bank of America is hosting a three-day event at the Ontario Convention Center where struggling homeowners can try to work out a payment plan to keep their homes.
For many people struggling to make their mortgage payments, the situation is desperate. Some of them are already facing foreclosure.
But Bank of America says the event allows homeowners to at least sit down with someone face to face and try to come up with a solution.
"It really provides the homeowner a little bit more comfort because they're able to sit down and talk through things," said Tamika Eubanks, vice president of national mortgage outreach at Bank of America.
Eubanks says about 30 to 40 percent of people who come with all the proper paperwork do find a solution on the spot.
"Come with your tax returns, any type of income you have, bring your proof and verification of income, if you have alimony, rental income, child support," said Eubanks.
The event at the Ontario Convention Center goes through Saturday, June 23.
