Plaque thief caught on camera at Menifee mortuary

Authorities have released surveillance video of an unidentified man prying a bronze plaque off the wall at a mortuary in Riverside County.

The crime happened on the evening of Nov. 18 at the Miller Jones Mortuary in Menifee. Authorities said the man also got away with a life-sized statue of a child, which was located in the mortuary parking area.

The suspect was described as a man in his 40s, standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Anyone with information was urged to call the Riverside County Sheriff's Department at (951) 210-1000.
