Rialto Unified School District accountant accused of stealing

RIALTO, Calif. (KABC) -- An accountant for the Rialto Unified School District could be formally charged Friday for embezzlement.

Police arrested 48-year-old Judy Oakes on suspicion of burglary, embezzlement and grand theft.

Police say she stole thousands of dollars from the district.

Oakes apparently had a large amount of cash with her and police say they found more at her home.

Police say the district notified them after a banking discrepancy was discovered.
