VICTORVILLE, Calif. (KABC) -- A decades-old restaurant in Victorville was destroyed in a fire early Monday.
The Rinconcito Del Mar restaurant, located at Seventh Street and La Paz Drive, caught fire just after midnight. San Bernardino County firefighters arrived to find it fully engulfed.
At first, flames and smoke were so intense that firefighters had to retreat and go into a defensive mode. They were eventually able to knock down the fire, but the restaurant is a total loss.
The firefighters were able to save the other businesses in the strip mall. The restaurant had been in Victorville for at least 40 years.
