L.A. deputy arrested for assault on wife

  

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy was arrested on Monday night, accused of attacking his wife and her male acquaintance.

Police found the male victim on the floor of a leasing office of an apartment complex on the 1000 block of Payton in Irvine. He was taken to a local hospital, and 34-year-old Robert McClain was arrested.

McClain's wife drove herself to the hospital and told staff she had been assaulted.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department said McClain joined the force less than a year ago and was assigned to the Twin Towers Jail in downtown L.A. He has been relieved of duty with pay pending an investigation.
