LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is going green.
Deputies are getting a fleet of zero-emission, electric-powered Mini Coopers this week.
Seventeen Mini Coopers are being leased for $10 per month each, in exchange for feedback.
Charging stations will be installed at sheriff's facilities by the car company.
Specialized units of the department including volunteer programs will get to use the minis.
The electric Mini is still in its trial phase.
