Police surround suspect in NoHo apt.

Los Angeles police and bomb squad units are on the scene of an apartment complex in North Hollywood where an armed suspect is believed to be holed up inside.

Los Angeles police and bomb squad units are called out to the scene of an apartment complex in the 6500 block of Simpson Avenue near Lankershim and Victory. Officers said the armed suspect was holed up inside.

The incident began at about 10:40 Friday night when a neighbor called 911 after he said bullets came through his wall from the suspect's apartment.

The neighbor said the man lived in the apartment with his wife. However, police officers said no one was found injured inside the apartment.

The standoff ended just before 6 a.m. Saturday. Investigators said they don't know why the man started shooting. His name has not been released.
