Man found shot to death in Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was found shot to death on a basketball court near Santa Monica College on Tuesday.

Police heard shots fired from Virginia Avenue Park, located near 22nd Street and Pico Boulevard, at 8:52 a.m.

Once police arrived on scene, they found the victim, identified as 20-year-old Richard Juarez of Santa Monica, dead, and two men running from the area.

Police questioned a possible suspect, but it was unclear if the shooter was in custody.
