Hollywood opens up new farmers market

Wednesday, November 04, 2009

There is a new Farmers Market in Hollywood. It's the Los Angeles Medical Center Certified Farmers' Market at Barnsdall Art Park.

The new LAMC Farmers' Market is replacing the old Hollywood Lemon Grove Farmers' Market and the Hollywood-Sears Farmers' Market, which used to be located in the Sears parking lot.

The new market offers a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as nuts and dried fruits. It will also host events for children and adults, including healthy cooking demonstrations, tastings, a salsa contest, physical activities, free raffles, live music, craft workshops and pumpkin carving for kids.

The market is open year round, every Wednesday from noon to 6:00 p.m. It's in the north parking lot of Barnsdall Art Park, located in the south side of Hollywood Boulevard at Vermont Avenue, at 4814 Hollywood Blvd.

EBT/Foodstamps and WIC/Senior FMNP coupons are accepted.
