Sunday, November 08, 2009

Old-fashioned police footwork netted Pomona cops four burglary suspects, who left a trail of footprints between a burgled house and their garage hangout filled with stolen goods, police said.

Burglars grabbed electronics and other property from a home in the 600 block of Fellows Place while the resident was at work on Friday night, said Pomona police Lt. Alex Rilloraza.

An investigating officer found shoe prints and other evidence at the scene and, after interviewing neighbors, checked out a nearby residence, said Rilloraza.

He found the men sleeping in a garage stacked with the stolen property. and with some of the ill-gotten goods in their pockets, said the lieutenant.

Salvador Escobedo Jr., 20, Rudi Almaguer, 23, Paul Drake, 22, and Jose Vian, 18, were arrested and held in lieu of $50,000 bail each.

Items believed to have been stolen in other burglaries were also found in the garage and booked into evidence.

The four men are scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday in Department A of Pomona Superior Court, 400 Civic Center Plaza.
