Man kills acquaintance in Sears parking lot

  

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Police said a man shot and killed an acquaintance at a North Hollywood Sears parking lot Wednesday night.

The suspect and the victim apparently argued on the phone earlier and had agreed to meet in the parking lot of the Sears on North Laurel Canyon Boulevard to settle their differences.

Police said when the two met, they began to argue again, and one man shot the other in the neck with a semiautomatic handgun at about 8:45 p.m.

The shooter fled in a 4-door black BMW 3-Series sedan with no plates. The victim was rushed to a local hospital but later died.
