Los Angeles police are trying to stir up new clues in the decades-old case of a suspected serial killer known as the 'Grim Sleeper.'

Police re-released a composite sketch Tuesday of a man who they believe killed at least 11 people between 1985 and 2007. The description came from a woman who survived a rape and shooting attack at the hands of the suspect in 1988.

The sketch may be updated using age-enhancement technology.

The man is suspected in the deaths of 10 women and one man in Los Angeles, Inglewood and unincorporated Lennox. Investigators linked the crimes using DNA and ballistic evidence.

The man was given the "Grim Sleeper" moniker because he took a break between 1988 and 2002.

Earlier this year, the Los Angeles City Council renewed a $500,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

The Associated Press and City News Service contributed to this report.
