WALNUT PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- Firefighters rescued two children trapped in a burning Walnut Park apartment early Wednesday morning.
Crews were called to the building near Santa Ana street and Santa Fe avenue at 12:43 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a two story building engulfed in flames.
Two children were stuck on the second floor with no way out. Firefighters brought them down on a ladder. Los Angeles County Fire Supervisor Andre Gougis said it took firefighters just 10 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
No one was seriously injured in the fire, but two families whose apartments were damaged were displaced. The Red Cross was called to help them find shelter.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
