MONTEREY PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- A roof collapsed in Monterey Park on Monday night, forcing residents to evacuate.
Fire officials say a 40-foot piece of roofing collapsed at an apartment building on the 200 block of South Chandler Avenue.
The area has been barricaded while inspectors assess the damage. Inspectors will decide if the building is inhabitable.
It is unknown how many residents were affected by the roof collapse.
