Mount Washington homes spared from grass fire

Friday, June 04, 2010

Firefighters made quick work of an early morning blaze in the Mount Washington area on Friday, knocking it down before it damaged any homes.

The fire broke out just before 1 a.m. near Mount Washington Drive and Marmion Way. Fire trucks and water-dropping helicopters were called in, and it took crews about an hour to get the flames under control.

A few homes near Glenalbyn Drive and Camino Real were briefly threatened, but none were damaged. Two acres were burned.
