LOS FELIZ, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles police were writing a lot of tickets Friday, but it's not what you think.
Officers spent the day at Mimi's café in Los Feliz taking orders and serving drinks. It was the department's annual Tips-for-Tots fundraiser.
Police were raising money for their Cops-for-Tots charitable organization. The fundraiser benefits Children's Hospital Los Angeles, particularly the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.
Officers will also be having a car show fundraiser Oct. 24 at the Los Angeles Police Academy.
