SOUTH GATE, Calif. (KABC) -- L.A. School Police were investigating a gun-related incident on the South Gate High School campus Friday afternoon.
A possible gang member was reported to have brandished a gun at a student off campus. The student reportedly ran to the dean's office on campus, with the suspect following the student. The suspect then apparently fled the campus.
School police locked down the campus. Approximately 200 students were on campus for school activities, but the majority of the student body was gone for the day.
Police were searching the school room by room to confirm the suspect was not present.
The lockdown was lifted after 6 p.m. Friday.
