A body was found at the Chantry Flats Recreation Area in the Angeles National Forest on Monday.

Authorities responded to the scene after a hiker spotted the body at about 8:30 a.m. The body of the adult male was found near the location where another body was found last Thursday.

The body has not been identified, and it is unclear if it was related to the first body found in the area.

Authorities said a handgun was found near the body.

Sheriff's deputies were searching in the San Gabriel Mountains for a murder suspect, identified as 53-year-old Kevin Pochter. He's accused of fatally shooting a lifelong friend.

Investigators believe Pochter was involved in the death of 53-year-old Dean Ron Albert, who was found lying on the side of the road at the Chantry Flats Campground.

Authorities said Pochter is armed and dangerous. He was described as white and bald, 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds, with blue eyes and wearing dark clothing.

Pochter was last seen on Saturday night hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains above Arcadia and Monrovia.

Authorities urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact the sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
