BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- Residents living in the Burbank foothills have been put on alert of a roaming mountain lion in the area.
Police officers spotted the big cat Thursday night near Kenneth Road and Brown Drive.
They watched the animal wander through some yards and jump an 8-foot fence before heading up a hillside.
Mountain lions will normally avoid people, but they can be dangerous.
Residents are being warned not to leave young children or pets unattended outside, and bring pet food inside at night when the cats are most active.
