DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities say they arrested a man who was drunk on the 60 Freeway when he crashed his SUV hauling a horse trailer.
The crash happened Saturday at Brea Canyon Road in Diamond Bar.
Officers said the horse trailer overturned, trapping two horses inside. Three lanes of the eastbound 60 Freeway were closed as rescuers tried to remove the horses.
The animals were safely rescued and loaded into another trailer. Handlers said the horses were frightened but appeared to be fine.
It appears no other vehicles were involved.
