COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities said a suspect was wounded in a deputy-involved shooting in Compton on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened on the 1400 block of North Pearl Avenue just after 8 a.m. when detectives spotted a stolen vehicle.
The suspect got out of the car and fled through the yards of several homes. During the foot pursuit, the suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun. Authorities say the suspect was shot and taken to a local hospital.
No deputies were hurt in the shooting. A black handgun was recovered at the scene.
